Since before the dawning of modern man, an alien mothership and nine abandoned flying saucers have been hidden away in Area 51, a top-secret military base in the Nevada desert. There, scientists have studied the crafts, hoping to unlock the secrets of the alien technology and, perhaps, the origins of life on Earth. But now a deranged general wants to activate the mothership’s interstellar drive—and the consequences could prove catastrophic for humankind.

Dr. Hans Von Seeckt—an elderly scientist, ex-Nazi, and original member of the Area 51 research team—joins up with the president’s science adviser, Dr. Lisa Duncan, and Special Forces officer Mike Turcotte to put a stop to the planned test flight and tell the public the truth about Area 51. Meanwhile, a brilliant archaeologist, Professor Nabinger, discovers a message on runes found in ancient Egypt that could change everything we think we know about human evolution and the role that alien visitation may have played in it.

Donnchadh and Gwalcmai were birthed on a far-flung planet in the Milky Way—a human breeding colony with the purpose of churning out disposable foot soldiers. But the masters of the colony, the Airlia, created humans with one fatal flaw: an insatiable thirst for freedom.

Though Donnchadh and Gwalcmai become God-killers in the bloody revolt against their seemingly omnipotent creators and captors, their planet is already doomed. So when they discover the Airlia have enslaved a human colony known as Atlantis, the pair of freedom fighters journey light-years to spare Earth from sharing their planet’s fate.

Armed with superintelligent weapons and technology that the primitive earthlings could never foresee or understand, Donnchadh and Gwalcmai engage in a stealth battle spanning millennia and continents, from the land of the pharaohs to ancient Rome to the realm of King Arthur. Scientist Lisa Duncan and Special Forces officer Mike Turcotte suspect the Airlia. Now that Area 51 has been exposed and a fleet of the aliens’ warships destroyed, the virus could be the Airlia’s last weapon. Dr. Lisa Duncan and Special Forces officer Mike Turcotte know better than anyone that no secret is safe for long—especially one that offers untold power. Now they’re demanding that humankind hand over the key to an ancient stash of alien technology…or watch an entire continent be reduced to atomic rubble.

Doom seems certain, as the required key is believed lost to the ages—until an unwitting anthropologist discovers the first of many clues to its hiding place. Place, time and family. Three things that shape individuals. Sometimes with love. Other times with violence.

Former covert operative, Horace Chase, has just discovered he has a son; a son who fled the Military Institute of South Carolina a year and a half ago after being accused of murder. The victim is the grandson of the most powerful woman in Charleston, South Carolina, who has sworn vengeance.

Chase teams up with another former covert operative, Dave Riley, and one of Riley’s old CIA friends, Kate Westland, to find his son and uncover the truth. Barely into their investigation they become caught up in a land development deal for Daufuskie Island worth hundreds of millions.

Chase and Riley’s covert background has taught them many things, but the most valuable has been that nothing is ever as it appears as an old nemesis rears her head, hell bent on revenge against them both along with a good helping of greed.

And in the shadows hovers THE CELLAR, the agency that polices the world of covert operations.

One by one, the competitors for the land deal are being killed and the threat to Chase’s son grows. And nothing, not the present, not the past, and no one, are as they appear to be.

Who will be left standing?

A Kidnapped boy. Extortion. The Russian Mob. And two former Green Berets. Nothing is ever as it appears. Horace Chase arrives on Hilton Head Island to pay his last respects at the Intracoastal Waterway where his late mother’s ashes were spread and to inspect the home his mother left him in her will. He’s been recently forced into retirement, his divorce is officially final, and now he’s standing in the middle of the front yard of his ‘new’ house where a tree has crashed right through the center of it.

What could possibly go wrong?

Within six hours of arriving on Hilton Head, Chase is exchanging gunfire with men who’ve kidnapped a young boy and tried to grab the boy’s mother. Soon he’s waist deep in an extortion plot to funnel a hundred million dollars of Superbowl on-line gambling money into an offshore bank account or else the boy dies.

Dave Riley has long retired from the military and living peacefully on sleepy Dafuskie Island off the coast of South Carolina. Sort of. Actually he’s bored, feeling old, and just a bit cranky running his deceased uncle’s small-time bookie operation.

Chase and Riley assemble a team of misfits and eccentrics as they take on the powerful Russian mob in the lawless tidal lands of the Low Country to get the boy back.

It adds up to a fiery confrontation to rescue the young boy, and settle some old scores.

But Riley and Chase need to remember a basic tenet from their days in covert operations: Nothing is ever as it appears.

Ivar is in the same war, in the same year, at a victory that is over-shadowed by Gettysburg in terms of publicity, but of more value strategically, when Grant takes Vicksburg on the 4th of July, 1863. But what if this great victory turns into the Union’s greatest shame?

On the 4th of July 1976, before there was a ‘War on Terror’, the Israelis launch a daring raid to free hostages at Entebbe. There is only one casualty in their force, the older brother of the current Prime Minister; what if that had turned out differently? Eagle is there to make sure it doesn’t.

Scout travels furthest back, to the 4th of July 362 B.C. to the Battle of Mantinea in Greece, in which Sparta is defeated by Thebes in a Pyrrhic victory, leading to a third party uniting Greece: Philip II, father of a man who would change history: Alexander The Great. Two West Point cadets are caught up in the historical events of the most significant era in United States history when the nation was torn apart by a Civil War.

Lucius Rumble and Elijah Cord encounter war, political intrigue, personal tragedies and more while encountering historical figures such as Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, William Tecumseh Sherman, Abraham Lincoln, Kit Carson and more.

The story begins at West Point in 1840 where Rumble and Cord clash over tavern owner Benny Haven’s daughter. The decision they make that day reverberates with them as the story ranges from West Point; to a plantation in Natchez, the richest city in the United States where cotton was king; to the only mutiny in the United States Navy; to St. Louis where Kit Carson is preparing to depart on a famous expedition to the west with Fremont that would eventually bring California into the Union; to Mexico, where the United States Army suffered its highest casualty rate to this day and brought most of the western United States into the Union; to the founding of the Naval Academy; to John Brown’s hanging; to the firing on Fort Sumter; through First Bull Run; the first battle of ironclads, the Monitor and Virginia; and culminating in the epic battle of Shiloh, where the United States had more casualties in one battle than in all previous wars combined and the face of warfare changed forever.

The key to this series is a simple fact I had to memorize as a plebe at West Point: Who commanded the major battles of the Civil War? —— There were 60 important battles of the War. In 55 of them, graduates commanded on both sides.

Assembly Magazine (Association of Graduates, West Point): “Bob Mayer has stretched the limits of the military action novel. Mayer brings an accurate depiction of military life to this book which greatly enhances its credibility.”Praise for Mayer’s war fiction: Stephen Coonts: “A scorcher of a novel!”WEB Griffin: “Exciting & Authentic!”

An epic series in the vein of HBO’s Rome, following two ordinary men through extraordinary times; from West Point, through the Mexican War, and into the Civil War.

Elijah Cord and Lucius Rumble swore oaths, both personal and professional. They were fighting for country, for a way of life and for family. They and their West Point classmates carried more than rifles and sabers into battle. They had friendships, memories, children and wives. They had innocence lost, promises broken and glory found.

Duty, Honor, Country is history told epic and personal so we can understand what happened, but more importantly feel the heart-wrenching clash of duty, honor, country and loyalty. And realize that sometimes, the people who changed history, weren’t recorded by it.

The story starts in 1840, in Benny Havens tavern, just outside post limits of the United States Military Academy. William Tecumseh Sherman, Cord, and Benny Havens’ daughter come together in a crucible of honor and loyalty. On post, in the West Point stables, Ulysses S. Grant and Rumble are preparing to saddle the Hell-Beast, a horse with which Grant would eventually set an academy record. On this day, all make fateful decisions that will change the course of their lives and history.

We follow these men forward to the eve of the Mexican War, tracing their steps at West Point and ranging to a plantation at Natchez on the Mississippi, meeting Major Robert E. Lee at Arlington, and go to Charleston, SC. We travel aboard the USS Somers and the US Navy mutiny that led to the founding of the Naval Academy at Annapolis.

We end with Grant and Rumble in New Orleans, preparing to sail to Mexico and war, and Cord with Kit Carson and Fremont at Pilot Peak in Utah during his great expedition west.

This is book 1 in the Duty, Honor, Country series. (Formerly titled West Point to Mexico)

This is history told both epic and personal so the reader can feel the heart-wrenching clash of duty, honor, country and loyalty. And realize that sometimes the people who changed history weren’t recorded by it. In the vein of HBO’s Rome miniseries, two fictional characters, Lucius Rumble and Elijah Cord, are standing at many of the major crossroads of our history.

The book begins with the battle at Palo Alto at the beginning of the Mexican War, percentage-wise, the bloodiest in U.S. History. While U.S. Grant and Lucius Rumble fight across Mexico, Elijah Cord is with Fremont and Kit Carson in the far west, battling to bring California into the Union.

The book concludes on the eve of the Civil War, with each man taking his place on one side or the other, as West Point classmates prepare to face each other in battle.

The Civil War was a West Point war. As plebes we were required to memorize the fact that in 55 of 60 major battles, West Pointers commanded both sides and in the other five, one side.

The 4th of July 1826. As Thomas Jefferson lies dying, he gives his part of his Jefferson Cipher to Edgar Allen Poe, with instructions to take the disks to West Point. In Massachusetts, John Adams entrusts his part of the Cipher to Colonel Thayer, the superintendent of the Military Academy. As Thayer rides away, Adams utters his final words: “Thomas Jefferson survives.”

In the present, Green Beret Paul Ducharme has been recalled from Afghanistan after the ‘accidental’ death of his best friend, the son of one of the Philosophers. While Ducharme is visiting his friend’s gravesite in Arlington, an old man is executed by a member from the Society of Cincinnati know as the Surgeon, who is seeking to gather all the pieces of the cipher. In a nearby restaurant, former CIA and now Curator at Monticello, Evie Tolliver, waits anxiously for her mentor to arrive, but he’s killed by the same assassin at the Zero Milestone. His heart and the Philosopher’s head are displayed as a grisly message on top of the stone, echoing Jefferson’s famous head-heart letter.

Ducharme and Tolliver, the unknowing heirs to become the next generation of caretakers of the Jefferson Allegiance, team up and must battle the Surgeon to assemble the Cipher and find the Jefferson Allegiance, a document that has kept the balance of power in the United States for over two centuries.

THE FACTS:

Would the military ever initiate a coup? A secret, powerful group of West Point Graduates, known only as The Line, is going to do just that.

“Today, every inhabitant of this planet must contemplate the day when this planet may no longer be habitable. Every man, woman and child lives under a nuclear Sword of Damocles, hanging by the slenderest of threads, capable of being cut at any moment by accident or miscalculation or by madness. The weapons of war must be abolished before they abolish us.” John F. Kennedy

For 13 days in October 1962 the world came the closest to nuclear Armageddon. On 22 November 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated. On the 25th of November, as Kennedy’s body lay in state at the Rotunda in Washington, Anastas Mikyoan, Khrushchev’s top adviser, presented the Premier’s condolences to Jacqueline Kennedy. She took Mikoyan’s hand in both hers and told him: “I am sure that Chairman Khrushchev and my husband could have been successful in the search for peace, and they were really striving for that. Now the Chairman must continue the agreed upon endeavor and bring it to completion.”

On 12 October 1964, a Washington socialite named Mary Meyer was shot in the back of the head and through the heart at point-blank range. She had been married to a high-ranking CIA agent. More importantly, she had been carrying on an affair with President John F. Kennedy and was one of his most trusted friends, at his side through the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

On 13 October 1964, the day after Mary Meyer’s murder, the Soviet Politburo forced Nikita Khrushchev to resign from power and put him under house arrest.

Except one scientist who plans to take the project to a higher level. Decades later, the Russians unleash Chyort, also known as the ‘Devil’. Sergeant Major Jimmy Dalton and a small team of US Green Berets who were originally trained in the classified Trojan Warrior program are thrust into the Psychic Warrior program. Psychic Warrior takes warfare into the virtual plane through avatars and then reinserts the covert operatives into the real world. The results can be devastating. Mayer uses his real Military experience in the then-classified Special Forces Trojan Warrior program and writes a novel about the new frontier of warfare: the mind.

This is the future of Special Operations Warfare.

Library Journal: “A heart-pounding thriller about the emergence of a deadly avatar. The panorama of modern warfare and the details of hand-to-hand combat encounters add excitement. Inventive, entertaining, and realistic adventure. Highly recommended.”

Mind control is only the first step…
World domination is the next…

Much like Men Who Stares at Goats, Psychic Warrior is a fictional tale taken straight from the pages of the once classified Trojan Warrior Program in Special Forces and written by someone who was in the unit.

Bright Gate. HAARP. Remote Viewers. U.S. military operations so top secret that not even the president knew they existed. Now they have produced an elite group of commandos able to leave their bodies — and their souls — to fight anywhere, anytime, using the persuasive power of the human mind.

Sergeant Major Jimmy Dalton is one of them. An ex-Green Beret, a man with no family, no ties, and nothing to lose, Dalton knows the most dangerous weapon in any arsenal is the mind.

Among the first Psychic Warriors to be battle tested on the virtual plane, Dalton has seen up close the damage and destruction the new weapons can cause. The memory will haunt him the rest of his days.

However, Dalton has a new set of enemies. First, the Mithrans hiding in the peaks of the Himalayas and the other, the Priory, manipulating mankind in the shadows of the power elite. The technology that allows Dalton to be a Psychic Warrior gives these two groups the opportunity to battle each to the death. If they happen to wipe out mankind in the process, so be it.

The race is on to seize power and it falls to Dalton and his team to stop both the Priory and the Mithrans before they destroy all of humanity.

What if the Apocalypse is something no one can imagine?

As a massive object appears in space heading directly toward Earth, the Brotherhood heralds it as Wormwood, one of the signs of the Rapture and it’s just three days away. They have been preparing to implement the Great Commission as designated by Jesus—where everyone on the planet must hear the word of God before the end in order to be saved. They will use advanced technology to send that message directly into the minds of every human on the planet. The question is: will the message kill everyone who gets it or save them?

Believing that Judas, the anti-Christ, is alive and well and living in the Amazon, they send a team of assassins up the Amazon to find the Great Betrayer and kill him before Armageddon.

Opposing the Brotherhood is the Triumvirate of the Illuminati. They believe they must stop the Great Commission and the assassination team. At the same time they rush to gather nuclear weapons and launch missiles into space to divert the Intruder, as they call the object, believing it to be a natural phenomenon over which technology will prevail.

As the object nears Earth, both sides become locked in a world-wide battle for the future of the human race, as Judas prepares in the jungle for the Second Coming, the fulfillment of his Fifth Gospel.

Which is not at all what anyone expects.
